There are two ways to meet with a writing consultant. Either way, plan to set aside 30 minutes for a standard session.

DROP IN SESSIONS: The first way to meet with a consultant is to simply drop in the writing center and see who is available. Feel free to pop in and ask any of the consultants if someone is available. Put your name in the appointment book for whatever time your consultation starts. Be sure you remember to bring a copy of your assignment sheet and either your written notes (if you're still in the early stages of the writing process) or a printed copy of your draft (if you're farther along in the process).

APPOINTMENTS: If you’d like to make an appointment to meet with a writing consultant, simply stop in the writing center and put your name and SHU email in the appointment book. The front of the appointment log contains the same photos and information about our consultants as this website. Simply flip through the book and find the day and time you’d like to meet with a consultant. If there are several writing consultants available at that time, choose which you’d like to meet with and put your name, email, and main writing concern in that time slot. As always, be sure to bring a copy of your assignment sheet and either your written notes (if you're still in the early stages of the writing process) or a printed copy of your draft (if you're farther along in the process).
